BIOGRAPHY

Jon Roberts graduated from Bates College in Maine with a double major in Physics and Studio Art. He completed a thesis in both disciplines, with his physics thesis focused on subatomic interactions. While he did not continue in physics as a profession, he was profoundly shaped by the ways in which both physics and art seek to express an essence of the way things are.

He has traveled and worked in countries throughout Africa, Asia, Central America, and Europe. He helped create Burlington’s first South End Art Hop, one of Vermont’s largest art events. Early in his career, he assisted Pat Parsons of the Webb and Parsons Gallery with her collection and shows, including New York’s Outsider Art Fair and other Vermont exhibits.

His most recent work explores the boundary between object and image, using mixed media to create installations, sculpture, and wall pieces.
